For bonded work we have two types of metal:

1. an 18-carat yellow bonded gold for duceragold crowns;
2. A silver/palladium bonding gold for other crowns.

For casting golds we use:

1. 60% yellow gold for private work;
2. 30% yellow for NHS work ;
3. white gold for posts and cores;
4. we will not use any non-precious metal due to adverse properties.

To cast these metals we have the latest up-to-date induction casting machine from Heraeus, which means we get very dense castings and this lessens the likelihood of porosity.

In bonded work this produces by far a superior ceramic to metal bond. (For example, we have not had a bond failure in the five years while we have been using our present bonding gold.)
We also use a porcelain, which does not turn green with oxide contamination as many do.
So if you ask for an A3 that is what you will get.

The work is checked at each stage of production and we have a final inspection where the following are verified:

1. the model corresponds to the work ticket;
2. the specifications have been met as requested;
3. the prosthesis fits the model;
4. the shade is correct;
5. the contact points are appropriate;
6. the occlusion is correct;
7. the aesthetics meet our requirements;
8. the glaze is satisfactory;
9. work will be returned, before, or at the latest, on the day required.

So with the quality of our work and the checks used we are building a reputation for consistency and a high standard of workmanship.
